Worlds

Every Idea needs a World.

A World is a specialized interpretation of Ideas. Every World understands the same Ideas differently and manifests them according to its own knowledge, tools and purpose.
Every Idea needs a World.
The Concept

What is a World?

A World is a specialized environment that understands a particular domain. It knows how to interpret Ideas and manifest them into Things that belong to its area of expertise.
01

A specialized perspective

Every World sees an Idea through its own knowledge, rules, materials and tools. The same Idea can therefore lead to completely different Manifestations in different Worlds.
02

A space for manifestation

Some Worlds create physical structures. Others create electronics, software, knowledge, products, services or entirely new kinds of Things.
03

An open possibility

There is no fixed number of Worlds. Anyone can create a new World with its own expertise, community and interpretation of reality.

The Maker Universe is the first implementation of this model — not its boundary.

Examples

Example Worlds from the Maker Universe

These Worlds demonstrate how different areas of expertise can interpret the same Ideas in completely different ways. They are examples of what a World can be, not a fixed catalogue of all possible Worlds.

Future World Possible

Your World

The Next World.
The Web of Things is open. Your World could specialize in medicine, architecture, education, robotics, music, biology, finance or something that does not exist yet.
Every new World expands the collective ability to manifest Ideas in new ways.
This World manifests

Whatever your imagination, expertise and community decide.

The Web of Things grows through new Worlds created by everyone.
Working Together

Different Worlds. Shared Ideas.

Every World interprets the same Ideas through its own expertise. Some specialize in knowledge, others in construction, electronics or interfaces. Together they can create Things that no single World could produce alone.
Different Worlds. Shared Ideas.
01

Knowledge World

Provides understanding and context.

02

Replicator

Combines the results of many Worlds into complete Things.

03

Construction World

Provides physical structures.

04

Electronics World

Provides capabilities and intelligence.

05

Interface World

Provides interaction.

An Open Ecosystem

There is always room for another World.

The Web of Things does not define a fixed set of Worlds. Anyone can create a new World, define a new interpretation of Ideas and contribute entirely new ways of manifesting Things. The Maker Universe is simply the first example.

One Idea. Infinite Worlds.
